KARACHI: Heatstroke has claimed 26 more lives in Karachi within 24 hours. Afterwards, death toll has exceeded to 12oo. According to a local newspaper, 26 more people affected with heatstroke have lost their lives since last night in private and government hospitals whereas Jinnah Hospital sources said that 354 affectees had lost their lives so far.
On the other hand, department of health sources have said that 1130 people have lost their lives due to heatstroke so far whereas independent sources have told that heatstroke have killed more than 1200 people in Karachi.
In the meantime, a very tragic incident took place in Islamabad today where a car hit 5 persons of the same family killing grandfather, grandson and granddaughter whereas two were injured seriously. According to Islamabad police, the incident occurred near Zero point.
The police said that a fast car got out of control and crushed the people standing along footpath and resultantly, grandfather, grandson and granddaughter lost their lives at the moment whereas 2 people of the same family got injured whereas the driver of the car fled away.
The police have shifted the dead bodies and injured ones to PIMS Hospital Islamabad. The injured were being medically treated whereas the dead bodies after autopsy have been handed over to the bereaved family.
