Indian famous poet, lyricist Gulzar and director Vishal Bhardwaj was in Pakistan to attend the Karachi Literary Festival. They arrived in Lahore and were to reach Karachi today to attend the Festival. However now they has returned to India via Wagah border today. This was told by Oxford University Press (OUP) Managing Director Ameena Saiyid.
According to media reports Gulzar and Vishal Bhardwaj returned to India due to security concerns. The Indian High Commission has denied Indian media reports that they have sent back Gulzar and Bhardwaj.
Vishal Bhardwaj who directed famous Indian films Maqbool, Omkara, Kaminey and Ishqiya said that Gulzar was emotionally overwhelmed after visiting his birthplace in Dina and he has to return to India. Vishal said that early return to India has nothing political affiliation and they will visit Pakistan again. Vishal Bhardwaj came to record a song for his upcoming film Dedh Ishqia (sequel of Ishqiya).
