Federal Government has extended the deployment of Pakistan’s armed forces in the capital city of Islamabad for security situations.
Currently there are 350 army men deployed in the red zone of Islamabad to prevent any threat and attack against the important government institutions such as National Assembly, Supreme Court and other buildings.
After expiry of their last deployment the government issued a notice in March extending their deployment which was ending this week but government again extended it.
Army was called to protect these institutions after political parties such as Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) & Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) protest against the government of PMLN and tried to enter the Red Zone area.
The government later extended the deployment several times saying that the security conditions are not satisfactory and army needs to be deployed there.
