Makkah Al Mukarramah: 10 men including a local Saudi, alleged of selling normal water, under the label of ‘Aab e Zam Zam’ have been arrested by the police authorities; it has been learnt through the sources. British Broadcasting Company (BBC) giving reference from one of the local Saudi newspaper, Saudi Gazette stated the men were arrested by Minister of Trade and Commerce.
The minister was on his visit to Al-Sharafiyah district of Jeddah when he found 3 men filling normal water into the cans of Aab e Zam Zam in an industry. The police officials arrested the 10 men, including one of the Saudi men, who is said to be the owner of the factory.
It is worthwhile here to mention that selling of the Holy water is strictly prohibited by Saudi Arabia Kingdom authorities. In high quantity, Aab e Zam Zam is taken as Holy water by the foreign workers there as well as the pilgrims who come from various parts of the world to perform Holy rituals. Other than that, Holy water is sold in some countries with price tag.
Zamzam is the holy water of Muslims obtained from a well located within Masjid Al- Haram in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. Selling normal water, labeled as ‘Aab e Zam Zam’ is not just a crime, but also a sin. A Muslim shall refrain from any such thing, which involves disrespecting the Islamic rituals.
