Foundation Public School is one of the top schools of Pakistan, which has been operating in Pakistan since 1981. The school was established by Raza Minhas and his wife, Yasmeen Minhas and a family friend, Sabiha Mohammad. The school currently has a student body of 6000 students under the supervision of 500 teachers.
Foundation Public School has in total 9 campuses in Karachi and Hyderabad. The school imparts education to children from 3.5 years of age to 18 years. Children complete their education with O’ levels and A’ levels exams. The Hyderabad campus offers intermediate education, while teh rest are Cambridge based.
The school also provides sports facilities to nurture the future athletes of Pakistan through soccer, cricket, badminton, table tennis, rowing and throwball games. The school was established as a private co-educational institution during an era when various schools were being privatized after the nationalization policy introduced by Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
The Foundation school started with their first batch of 14 students, to gradually increase and expand to 600o students. Now it has various branches. It also has its sister school by the name of ‘Head Start’ that imparts kindergarten education and trains the students for admission in the FPS school later. The Head Start education standards are not comparable to the Foundation Public School and there is a difference in the fee schedule as well, as the Head Start School has been created for the lower middle and midldle class people.
