Renowned columnist Ardeshir Cowasjee has passed away in Karachi on Saturday. Ardeshir Cowasjee was one of the oldest columnists of Pakistan. He was born in Karachi in 1926. He was chairman of the Cowasjee Group. Cowasjee was also known as a social activist, philanthropist, and a businessman.
Cowasjee wrote weekly columns for Pakistan’s leading English newspaper Dawn from 1988 to 2011. Cowasjee went to Bai Virbaiji Soparivala Parsi High School (BVS) and graduated from DJ Science College, he married to Nancy Dinshaw in 1953. He has one son (Rustom) and one daughter (Ava). Columnist Nadeem F. Paracha and journalist Omar Warraich also tweeted regarding death of Ardeshir Cowasjee.
On Friday senior journalist Wilayat Ali Islahi died in Karachi. Mr Islahi journalism career spanned over six decades and he enetered the newspaper world before partition. He remained associated with Jang International, Kohistan, Lahore, and Mashriq, both at Lahore and Karachi, and Akhbar-i-Khwateen.
