India has refused to issue visa to the Pakistani team, Faisalabad Wolves that was scheduled to play the Champions League T2o in the upcoming tournament beginning on 17 th September, sources have reported. Reason presented by the blue shirts team is the security threat that they fear to provide to the green-shirts in their homeland.
Faisalabad team was to go through the qualifying phase with other teams including the Sri Lanka and Otaga Volts (New Zealand). Under the captainship of the ODI and Pakistan Tests matches, Misbah-ul-Haq, Wolves had won the Faysal Bank Super Eight T20 cup. The two leading teams would enter into finals, giving defeat to the 10 teams. Outfits of the two teams who are to play the semi-finals have been finalized.
Indian government due to its hostility had earlier prevented the Pakistani players aloof from the Champions league. However the Sialkot Stallions last year had managed to play the tournament, held last year.
It is pertinent here to mention that India has invited the domestic cricket teams to its homeland for the matches but after the tensions stirred between the two arch rivals, India declined to fulfill its words. By winning the T20 national champions, Faisalabad wolves have had earned to honor of being invited to India for CTL 20 2013.
