ISLAMABAD: Eidul Fitr Is being celebrated today with religious zeal and fervour. The largest Eid congregation was held in Faisal Mosque, Islamabad in which diplomats, civil officers and citizens were present. The other large congregations of Eid were held in Lal Mosque and Golra Sharif. In the sermons of Namaz-e-Eidul Fitr, Israeli attacks on Gaza were condemned whereas people expressed their sorrows on the loss of Palestinians’ lives.
The prayers for the success of North Waziristan operation and the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) were offered. In Karachi, the large congregations of the Eidul Fitr were held in Nishtar Park, Mehfil-e-Shah-e- Khurasan, Sabil wali Masjid, Eidgah Nazimabad, New Memon Masjid, Jinnah Ground, Masjid Khairul Amal and other places.
Due to security concerns, governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan and diplomats from other Islamic countries performed Namaz-e-Eid at the Jama Masjid governor house whereas administrator Karachi Rauf Akhtar and others attended the government congregation of Namaz-e-Eid, held in Bagh-e-Jinnah. Tight security arrangements were taken around all the eidgahs and mosques in the city.
The Ulimas in the congregations of Namaz-e-Eid prayed for the Muslims of Palestinians, removal of terrorism from Pakistan and bringing peace in the country.
