Few years ago giving Eid cards to your school and college friends was a must thing to do. Almost every student purchased Eid cards for their friends which were easily available in the market.
Special stalls were seen in shopping malls and Eid Bazaar especially in the last 10 days of Ramazan but now the trend is almost finished in all parts of Pakistan. Now finding such stalls and Eid cards is not an easy thing to do.
Another trend was wishing your friends, colleagues and relatives Eid Mubarak through SMS. During peak hours the network was disturbed because of the traffic. PTA revealed that it was because billions of messages were sent but now social media has taken over the trend.
Somewhere in texts messages, Facebook chats, calls, the Eid Card trend disappeared …

WhatsApp and Facebook has become the new trend and now people use these instant social media networks to wish their loved ones. This is because internet is cheaper and social media is a faster way to send wishes to everyone with just one click. It also gives you option to send audio & video messages which are preferred in this age of technological advancement.
Once there were letters, then came the cards and now WhatsApp is the trend. No one knows what will replace WhatsApp in the coming years.
