Dr Moazzam Ali Khan has been appointed recently as the Registrar of the University of Karachi. Dr Moazzam holds the position of Associate Professor at the Institute of Environmental Studies at the University of Karachi. He has replaced the former Registrar Dr. Mansoor Ahmed. Dr Mansoor is the Professor of Pharmacognosy, Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Department of Pharmacognosy, who will no longer act as the registrar of Karachi University.
Dr. Moazzam Ali Khan, has been a long standing member of the Institute of Environmental Studies, joining way back in 1990.He has completed his PhD in the field of waste stabilization ponds technology. His specific area of interest is the environmentalimpactassessment studies. He has gained considerable experience on treatment and disposal of waste water in hot climates. Presently he is working on EIA studies and biodegradation of hazardous waste.
Registrar of Karachi University is responsible for carrying out day to day activities, which also includes decisions pertaining to University closures owing to unfavourable conditions in the city. The new Registrar Dr Moazzam Ali Khan will now be assuming this position from now on.
