Karachi: Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) President Dr. Misbah-Ul-Aziz said that they are about 30.75 Million peoples are blind in the World and 1.6 Million people are blind in Pakistan. He said that they are about 1 Million people blind in Nigeria, 0.25 Million people in Chad.
He said that PIMA is operating 10,000 eyes operation per day and the doctors affiliated with PIMA have gone to Cameron and other African countries for this purpose. He was talking to the media in the Karachi Press Club.
Other doctors of PIMA including PIMA Karachi President Dr. Salman Ahmed Ghauri, Dr. Intizar Hussain, Dr. Shayan Shadmani, Dr. Zeeshan Anasari and others were presents.
Dr. Misbah-Ul-Aziz further said that a trust is running under PIMA ‘’ Prevention of Blindness’’ it is working from July 2007 to secure the eye sight and the basic theme behind this project is to secure the sense of sight.
