Recently I visited a mall near Zaibunnisa Street in Karachi which is famous for its multiplex cinemas. As it was Sunday many people were present in the mall, most of the people came here to watch movies in cinemas and the mall looks deserted most of times. However on that day an event was happening in the mall which was according to their pamphlet “The biggest Magical Musical Fairy Tale”.
The event was very disturbing for me and many others who were at mall as very loud music was played by the orgainsers. Small children were very much frightened by the loud music and even one cannot hear that what the other person is saying because of loud music.
Event organsiser may have the permission for this type of event to play loud music. But it was sad to see that mall management does not care about their visitors as everyone does not like this type of activity and if one wants to do this type of events then they must book sound proof halls or at least not a public place. Sindh Environmental Protection Agency should also take notice that playing music in very loud music creates noise pollution which is not acceptable.
The most important thing which was very shameful was that girls and boys were dancing in a way that it does not look as we are in a Muslim country. Now a day’s when one switch on the television then it also reminds that media is also not taking care of our religious and cultural value.
It is time that people relies by themselves that these type of activities are not part of cultural and these entertainments only hurt society.
