Pakistani Cricketer Fawad Alam has enjoyed a memorable comeback into the Pakistan One Day International team in the Asia Cup in which he played crucial innings in the Final for Pakistan. His performances have been recognized by many people and recently he was awarded a Gold Medal by the Managing Director of Omar Associates Nadeem Omar.
The award was presented to Fawad Alam in a ceremony held at the UBL Sports Complex Ground after the inaugural match of the All Karachi Muhammad Zamir Khan Memorial Cricket Tournament. The medal was presented by Mr. Nadeem Omar and member of MQM Rabita Committee Syed Aminul Haque.
The Gold medal was presented to Fawad Alam for his outstanding innigs of 114 Not Out against Sri Lanka in the final of the Asia Cup and his crucial innings of 74 off 70 balls in the match against Bangladesh which helped Pakistan reach the Final.
Fawad Alam has played 3 Test Matches, 29 ODIs and 24 Twenty20 Internationals for the Pakistan cricket team. He has been in and out of the team in recent years and was making a comeback after a couple of years. He amazed everyone by his strength of character and consistency in the Asia Cup where he showed that he could also score at a fast rate which was something not expected from him previously.
