The economic crunch is getting severer day by day. Recently, wheat price has increased 15 Rupees per kilo. This means that a family with average size of 6 members consuming 1 Kilo wheat daily will have to pay Rs. 500 more in order to meet its current demand. This is terrible for a country where more than 30 percent of population is living below the poverty line. How can a poor family with 6 members manage to arrange Rs. 500 more, when it’s only surviving on/under Rs. 5200 per month? What is the option left for poor other than committing suicide or crimes? Some days before the labor class of Pakistan has sought a fatwa (Islamic verdict) to make “theft” halal (permissible).
Even though theft is not permissible according to Islamic law, we will observe rapid increase in crime rate because the current system has not left any other choice for poor. Obviously no parents can see their children dying! The only way to solve this problem is by implementing Islamic Shariah in totality via Caliphate state. According to Islamic ruling system, it is compulsory for a Caliph to provide basic necessities for survival to all its citizens. Employment opportunities are provided by launching new industries, instead of relying on “handout schemes”. We have witnessed this system for 1300 years. Historical records show that crime rates were very low in Caliphate state.
