Head of the Abbotabad and missing persons commissions Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has said that the recovery of missing persons is the top priority of the commission.
He said that every possible effort is being made to send the report quickly regarding the 2nd May accident of Abbotabad to government, adding that there would be no relaxation regarding the investigation of Abbotabad incident.
All the institutions of state are answerable before the commission, Javed added.
In an interview with a private TV channel on Monday, he said that Abbotabad incident is a great incident of the history, adding that after Hamood-ur- Rehman commission the Abbotabad commission has great importance.
He said that the commission would depart to Abbotabad in next week to record the statements of nearly 300 witnesses, adding that no foreign country contacted for recording of witness. He said that it is our problem and we would solve it.
He said that 302 missing persons were recovered during his four years tenure, adding that our basic priority would be to get prepare a factual list of missing persons, adding that no party provided a list of missing persons based on real facts.
He said that some people are among the missing persons who had took part in Afghan Jihad and they are in the jails of Afghanistan.
He said that it is our first priority to make a list based on facts, after that a meeting of home secretaries and IGPs of all provinces would be summoned and the secret agencies would also be contacted for this purpose, adding that we would make all efforts to recover the missing persons.
He said that according to Inquiry Commission Act of 1956, it is the prerogative of government to make the reports of commission public or not, adding that the Abbotabad Commission would recommend the government to make the report of commission public.
He said that Abbotabad Commission would complete the investigation very soon, but he cannot give any time frame for the completion of investigation.
He said that all the president of bar associations, famous journalists and experts of defence and foreign affairs would be contacted for the compilation of report and no fact would be kept secret.
