A new study has found that countries with higher black tea consumption have lower type-2 diabetes patients.
The research only linked the two but said there should be further studies to prove how it decreases the risk of diabetes.
[junkie-alert style=”green”] It is believed that the antioxidant in black tea helps in shielding you from diabetes. It also blocks enzymes that are responsible for converting starch into glucose, thus reducing the threat of diabetes. [/junkie-alert]
Another research in 2008 revealed that black tea also reduces the absorption of sugar in small intestines, lower absorption means lower sugar in your body hence reduced risk of diabetes.
But is should be remembered that black tea contains caffeine which should not be consumed more than 400 mg, so you can and should only drink 3 cups of tea a day.
