Islamabad: Google has now made people realized about its proactiveness against the spread of Anti Islam film on Internet as it begins barring access in Malaysia to the insulting film produced by Amrican-Israeli Film maker Sam Bacile that sparked outrage across the Muslim world. The decision has been taken after the country’s Internet regulator filed an official complaint.
A spokesman of YouTube, owned by internet giant Google, told the foreign news agency on Monday that it began restricting access to clips of the film Sunday, in line with its community guidelines.
“When videos violate those rules, we ban them. Where we have launched YouTube locally and we are informed that a video is illegal in that country, we will hamper the access to it after a comprehensive review,” he said.
Meanwhile, Google has also denied access to the videos in Libya, Indonesia, Egypt and India though it has not been barred in Pakistan till now.
