Pakistan post offices will now work as registration centers for NADRA after an agreement was signed between National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) & Post Office.
Initially counters for computerized national identity cards are opened in 200 post offices but soon more post offices will open counter for CNIC registration. This initiative was taken to help the citizens from rural villages who had to travel long distances to get their CNIC.
Spokesperson of NADRA claimed that not only the numbers of these centers will increase in near future but more facilities will be offered on these counters.
This agreement between NADRA & Post Office will help millions of Pakistani citizens who were previously forced to travel from one area to another for the basic right of identification.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Maulana Amir Zaman who is the Federal Minister for Postal Services. Director General of NADRA Nisar Mir was also present in the event.
