Air Indus is a private airline of Pakistan that has its headquarters at Defence Housing Authority, Karachi. It started its flights on 28th July, 2013. It connects Karachi to several other locations in Pakistan. Air Indus has been created under the umbrella of a group of companies that are operating in the field of engineering, automotive and hospitality sectors. Major projects have been completed by these groups which have also included international collaboration. The stagnant condition of the aviation sector in Pakistan stimulated the creation of Air Indus by a group of stakeholders.
Air Indus was created with the motto of providing a world class flight service in Pakistan, as the key stakeholders strongly felt the absence of a world class flight service. The passengers were being charged high fares for substandard services in terms of both quality and safety. The stakeholders decided to launch a business model that would change the image of the Pakistan’s aviation industry, with the induction of a truly World Class Airline’ that would connect all the major cities of Pakistan.[junkie-alert style=”white”] Customers can contact Air Indus at their UAN: 1-11-INDUS(46387), but they have no email address for email correspondence [/junkie-alert]
The Pakistani government made certain changes in the Aviation Policy. They enhanced the standards and pre-requisites required to establish an airline in Pakistan and applied stricter controls and scrutiny before a license to operate could be awarded. The team of Air Indus worked for months in order to come with a business plan that would conform to the aviation policies and also produce revolutionary and sustainable standards. The efforts of the team bore fruits and Air Indus became the first private airline in Pakistan to be granted a license under the strictest of policy conditions.
Air Indus is carrying out its flight services from Karachi to the federal capital and all the provincial capitals on a daily basis. Daily flights are available through Air Indus from Karachi to Quetta, from Karachi to Faisalabad, from Karachi to Multan and from Karachi to Bahawalpur. It also intends to start its flights to international destinations as well. It serves cuisines by world’s leading caterer, Gate Gourmet.
The Air Indus frequent flyer program is called “Indus Miles”. There are four 3 tiers of Indus Miles memberships – Silver, Gold and Platinum. Each tier offers various privileges including priority check-in, priority boarding, priority standby and extra baggage allowance, free award tickets and discounts at various outlets.
