ISLAMABAD: An Air Force jet is crashed due to which a woman pilot was martyred. FT-7 jet of Pakistan Air Force was crashed near Mianwali due to which a woman flying officier Maryam Mukhtiar was martyred.
A statement issued by PAF Spokesman says that the incident occurred during a routine flight in Kundian near Mianwali where PAF’s FT-7 jet was crashed whereas a woman flight officer named as Maryam Mukhtiar was martyred in the incident.
According to the spokesman, squadron leader Saqib Abbasi and flying officer Maryam Mukhtiar were on a routine operational training mission that in the very last moments of the mission, technical fault occurred in the jet.
The spokesman said that both the pilots jumped from the jet in an attempt to secure the population whereas the jet was crashed in Kundian area near Mianwali. According to the spokesman, the squadron leader Saqib Abbasi received minor injuries whereas the flying officer Maryam Mukhtiar lost her life.
Maryam Mukhtiar was the first lady from Pakistan Air Force who attained the rank of martyrdom. The 24-year-old Maryam Mukhtiar belonged to Karachi.
