After winning the battle against Pakistan in the world cup tournament, Indian captain MS Dhoni pointed out that there was a dire need of an all rounder like Abdul Razzaq in the Pakistani squad. Pakistan is struggling in the tournament with a bowling attack of 3 fast bowlers and 2 spinners. The Pakistani squad needs support from an all rounder who can bowl intelligently as well. Abdul Razzaq was expected to have been picked up by the selection committee for the Pakistani world cup cricket squad, but committee decided against it.
Abdul Razzaq played 46 tests and 265 ODIs (One Day Internationals) and maintained a batting average of 29.70 and a bowling average of 31.83. He was expecting to be made part of the world cup cricket squad and serve his team in this battle, but the decision was not put in his favour. MS Dhoni stated that an all rounder like Abdul Razzaq should have been part of the team.[junkie-alert style=”white”] As Pakistan steps into its next match against West Indies, fans are thinking if an all rounder’s selection should have been considered for the world cup squad [/junkie-alert]
Although the Pakistani squad consists of talented cricketers but the team still needs to be balanced by an all rounder. The combination between the players is somehow not making a perfect fit. Pakistan will go on to face West Indies in their next match on the 21st of February after their loss against India. This match will be a decider as it will ascertain Pakistan’s fate in the World Cup 2015.
