International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced 8 teams for ICC Champions Trophy 2017 and Pakistan Cricket team is included. According to the press release issued by ICC, 8 top teams of the world will participate in the event, which includes Australia, India, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, England, Bangladesh and Pakistan. West Indies has failed to qualify for the event because Pakistan Cricket team has beat West Indian team as compared to points and stand on 8th position in the ranking.
In the series against Bangladesh, Pakistani team goes on 9th position after 0-3 defeat and the participation of team in the event was not confirmed. Pakistan Cricket team had competition with both the Bangladeshi and West Indian teams. But after winning the recent series against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka in One Day International, the chances of participation of Pakistani team increased. Pakistani Cricket team is the last team which has qualified for ICC Champions Trophy 2017.
ICC Champions Trophy 2017 will be held in England, from 1st of June to 18th of June, 2017. There would be 2 groups comprises of 4 teams in each group and total 15 matches will be played during event.
It is to be noted that the last ICC Champions Trophy was held in 2013 in England, and India had won the trophy.
