Islamabad: the second literature festival will be held at Islamabad on 25th April, 2014 under the supervision of the Oxford University Press. This festival will be a unique event for the literature lovers and for those who are still clinging to their passion of reading such literary master pieces. The literature festival will be open for all the people to visit and benefit from this opportunity. The event has been co-sponsored by NIB bank and Ambasciala of Italia, Islamabad.
The event will be attended by various Pakistani and foreign speakers including poets, authors and academicians. 14 books have been launched in 67 sessions. Islamabad Literature Festival aims at creating an intellectual space that will nurture the diverse expressions of the Pakistani authors attached to the diverse social environment of Pakistan.
The event will include talks, interviews, panel discussions, book fairs, book launches, theatre plays, art sessions, exhibitions by Art Now and My Art World and a photo exhibition by Citizens Archives of Pakistan, stated Ameena Saiyid, who is the managing director of Oxford University Press.
The main sponsor of the event, embassy of Italy, represented by Dr Federico Bianchi who is the head of the economic and commercial office at embassy of Italy stated that this event has been sponsored by them for the past three years in Karachi and Lahore and now in Islamabad. He said that they will keep on sponsoring this event. The inauguration ceremony of the event will also include a dance performance by Sheema Kermani and Dastangoi by Danish Hussain and Darain Shaidi. Performances by Fawad Khan and Nazrul Hassan will also be included
