Dera Bugti: Many more girls continues to face harsh decree in violence hit, insurgent filled Balochistan province as a tribal Jirga led by a provincial assembly member in the province declares as many as 13 local girls Vani in retaliation over killing of a person.
According to the media reports, it was a family dispute for which these girls were declared vani and the decision was taken over the murder of a person by his adversary Roshan Khan Maisori.
The person belonging to Maisori tribe killed a family member of Karam Khan Shahani and the Jirga was called to resolve the dispute at Dera Bugti, a contentious city of Pakistan’s largest province by area, Balochistan.
The Jirga lasted for three days under the supervision of Balochistan Assembly member Tariq Khan Maisori, declaring 13 girls from killer’s family as Vani along with the imposition of Rs. 3 million fine. The ages of girls ranges from 9 to 13 years, sources told.
